Questions people ask before signing up

Is the free plan really free?
Yes. Puppy gives you 10 monitors, 1 status page and email alerts for free, forever. No credit card required. Every new account also starts with 14 days of BigDog so you can try 30-second checks, SMS and team seats before deciding; when the trial ends you drop back to Puppy unless you upgrade.
What counts as a "monitor"?
One thing being checked: a URL, an API endpoint, a hostname/port, a DNS record, an SSL certificate, or a cron job heartbeat. Group monitors that only roll up other monitors don't count.
How fast will I know when something is down?
Checks run as often as every 5 minutes on Puppy, every minute on WatchDog and every 30 seconds on BigDog. A failed check is retried before anyone is paged, so a single blip doesn't wake you; a confirmed outage alerts you within one check interval.
Which alert channels are supported?
Email alerts are built in on every plan and SMS on paid plans, with no Twilio account to set up. Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, Telegram, Splunk, generic webhooks and the rest of the 90+ notification providers are available on every plan — see all integrations.
Can my whole team use it?
Yes. Invite teammates into your organization as viewers, editors or admins (the owner keeps billing control). WatchDog includes 5 seats, BigDog 25 — pricing is per organization, not per user. Agencies can belong to several organizations and switch between them.
Can I cancel or change plans later?
Any time, from the billing portal in your dashboard. Downgrades take effect at the end of the billing period; there are no contracts. Nothing is deleted on a downgrade: your oldest monitors keep running up to the new limit and the rest are paused until you upgrade again.
